sToa - SILMAND (Releasedate: 26.09.08)
The new album of the music philosophers will surprise in many respects. Surprising the release itself - because it has become very quiet about the band for seven years.
Fans will be happy that mastermind Olaf Parusel has continued to pursue his very own and unique style with this fourth album. Beside the well-known melancholy you will find unusual pop-rhythms on this very diverse album. However, the typical sToa-Sound is well recognizable.
The vocals, too, will bring some surprising news. Besides Mandy Bernhards heavenly voices that has been famous for their live performances, three guest vocalists appear on the new album "Silmand". The first is Australian multitalented musician Louisa John Krol. Dutch Peter Nooten (ex-Clan of Xymox) took part as well as the famous Love Is Colder Than Death-musician Ralf Lehnert.
"Silmand" becomes an album for the quiet moments in life. For tender evenings, to dream away or for philosophic considerations. The sound of sToa makes you feel your own innermost sadness and to fly away on angel's wings from there. The dark side of human emotions is a key point, but without using the typical clichès. The Melancholy is moving, longing and yearning is praised - the soul will be caressed musically.
A preview to the album is given by the songs "Hanuz Nist" and "Broken Glass" for everyone on the MySpace-Site. On track has also been used as movie score recently.
"Silmand" means "Month of the soul". It is meant to be September - in a nearly forgotten German dialect. Olaf Parusel say about the title of the album: "September bears the power and fruit of life of the summer as well as the melancholy of the autumn. As a prelude to the merciless winter, when all live will be secluded."
Of course, "Silmand" is useful for every month of the year. How about enjoying it in a calm evening with a good glass of dry red wine?
